Any individual who has been a victim of a hate crime or has witnessed a hate crime should follow the following steps to report the incident:

Step 1: If you feel you are in danger, CALL 911. Record what happened in as much detail as possible and file a police report.

Step 2: Report the incident to your local FBI field office and state attorney general's office. Find your local FBI field office Here.

Step 3: Report the incident to both the Stop AAPI Hate and Stand Up Against Hatred forms.

Step 4: Reach out to an advocate for support group. There are many groups locally, statewide or nationally that represent groups of victims of hate crimes. The groups have helpful resources, trained staff, and direct services.
